FoodBoozeTunes: ‘Let It Bleed’

FoodBoozeTunes (45:54)

In this episode, we listen to the Rolling Stones’ Let It Bleed (CD | MP3).  I try a drink called (for the purpose of this podcast) My Favourite Flavour Cherry Coke and Sympathy.

Food:

I eat a plate of brownies for the first half of the album.  I wasn’t feeling too hot about having dessert while drinking a rather sweet beverage (see below), so I switched up the menu to microwave popcorn chicken (with Ken’s Honey Mustard dressing) for the second half of the album.

Booze:

This is the recipe for My Favourite Flavour Cherry Coke and Sympathy, which is essentially a rum and half-calorie, half-cherry cola:

Cherry Diet Rite Pure Zero (it was the only cherry flavor available);

Caffeine-free Coca-Cola Classic;

Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum;

Poured over ice, in a tall glass.

In the end, it was neither my favorite flavor, nor was it sympathetic.

Tunes:

“Gimme Shelter” is the first track from the album:

This podcast is also available at Auderamos.
