Shut-in Cinema:  The Human Centipede (1:34:00)

Shut-in Cinema is for people who don’t want to watch movies alone, and who also don’t mind having an annoyingly talkative companion (yours truly).  The film on the menu is The Human Centipede: First Sequence. Here is my real-time “commentary,” which is also posted at Auderamos.

The Menu:

Chopped salad:  Lettuce, spinach, grape tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower;

Salad dressing:  Mixture of olive oil, lemon, Italian dressing, black pepper, and garlic powder;

Popcorn chicken (about 30 pieces);

One leftover beef meatball;

Ken’s Honey Mustard (that’s what she said!);

One bottle of Stella Artois for the first 30 minutes;

One bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale for the middle 30 minutes;

One bottle of Stella Artois for the final 30 minutes of the film.

Enjoy!

FoodBoozeTunes vs. Cinema: ‘Hot Tub Time Machine’

I began a Netflix subscription about a couple of months ago, so I think we’ll add movies to our series of pseudo-reviews.  The first film to get the FoodBoozeTunes treatment is Hot Tub Time Machine, which was released in theaters earlier this year.  (If you want a real review of this movie, check out my friend Rama’s writings at Rama’s Screen.)

I’m not going to summarize the movie.  While the title pretty much boils down the concept, here’s the trailer:

Food. The consumption of sustenance pretty much played a secondary, or even a tertiary, role in this film.  Maybe if you count ‘shrooms, there’s food in this film.  In any case, as far as food goes, this film gets a C-. (more…)
